Dallas Area Rapid Transit is partnering with car sharing companies

To decrease the number of cars on the road and encourage people to use public transport, DART is now providing passengers the option of multi-modal trip planning on its mobile application. The Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) is taking big steps to ensure riders have all the options they need. Besides buying bus or train tickets with DART’s GoPass app, now users can book with Lyft or Uber, and will soon be able to rent bikes through a connection to all of the city’s bike-share apps. Multi-modal trip planning allows transit riders to plan their commute, or trip accurately and efficiently. It also increases chances that they will use public transport for a part of it, as well as encourages more people to leave their cars at home, which serves environmental and urban congestion purposes.
