Fast food restaurants offering mini-sandwiches in portion downsizing trend
Because they are lower priced, and offer more occasions to snack, Arby's and other fast food chains are revive value-priced mini sandwiches. In France, McDonald’s is offering Le Petit McBaguette mini. The new strategy was not born from the desire to offer eaters smaller portions at lunch or dinner, but to offer them something more to eat between meals. Using a classic "barbell" menu strategy, the restaurants are balancing their low-end items with new offerings on the high end. Arby's, for example, is at the same time unwrapping a caloric Double-Stack Reuben.
