In Florida, tourism industry gets behind the electric car trend
Orlando, Florida is home to Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando and LEGOLAND. It's also one of the world’s largest rental car markets. Now the city is looking to nudge visitors to get behind the wheel of an electric vehicle. In a vast public-private partnership, the city has constructed over 300 electric vehicle charging stations, and more are slated to be installed in hotel parking lots. The Drive Electric Orlando initiative, is backed by Japanese auto giant Nissan, and Enterprise Rent-A Car, among others. and visitors are being encouraged to rent electric vehicles with extra services like free valet parking and free overnight charging. No doubt, this will help build public enthusiasm for our electric car future.
