Now Google stepping into the booming online education market

Massive open online courses (MOOCs) are online classes offering large-scale interactive participation via the web. The New York Times dubbed 2012 "The Year of the MOOC," and it has since become one of the hottest topics in education. Major universities, including Stanford, the University of Pennsylvania, and Princeton University are now serving hundreds of thousands of students. Now EdX, a not-for-profit enterprise composed of 28 leading global institutions, is partnering with Google to expand open source platform which serves learning institutions around the world. In collaboration with Google, edX will build out and operate MOOC.org, a new site for universities, institutions, businesses, governments and teachers to build and host their courses for a global audience. Have you taken classes online yet? The trend says you will.
