Does Amazon's new virtual currency mean that Bitcoin and others are going mainstream?

Amazon.com has officially launched their own virtual currency, known as Coins. Amazon Coins can be used for apps, in-app purchases, and games. One hundred Amazon Coins will cost $1, but Amazon will be offering discounts for bulk purchases of Coins, up to 10 percent There are no expiration dates on the Amazon Coins. So far, however, they can only be used on the Kindle products and the Amazon Appstore on Amazon.com.
