Elite fliers get more perks as airlines start delivering checked bags to your home
The chasm between elite fliers and the riff raff is widening as those willing to splash out more cash for services are further separating themselves from the flying hordes. Now three major airlines -- United, American and US Airways – are offering a fee-based service that delivers checked bags right to your door. The service costs about $30 a bag, is available to any destination within 40 miles of the airport, and delivers within four to six hours. Is it worth it just to avoid 20 minutes at the bag belt? For airlines, it's a revenue-generator looking for a need. Golfers who want their bags delivered straight to the course, perhaps? For some flyers, this might be a game-changing experience.
