Food as art reaches high levels at San Francisco museum cafe
Rothko toast is just one of the latest artsy menu items at the cafe in the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Like the work that inspired it (Mark Rothko's No. 14, 1960) the toast features two tones of color (apricot butter and wild blueberry jam, in this case). Other menu items at the rooftop coffee bar include Donald Judd tomato soup, Damien Hirst "Amylamine" lemon velvet cake and Josef Albers crackers and cheese.
