Load flyers without carry-ons first: Has American Airlines finally figured out the best boarding strategy?
The Fort Worth-based airline is experimenting with a new boarding process that allows passengers with no carry-on bags to board before the rest of the economy class. If implemented nationwide, the move could save several minutes on boarding times to allow the airline to squeeze in more flights. Moreover, the new procedure may provide incentive for passengers to check their bags, a source of revenue for the airline.
