McDonalds happy meal toys 3D printed on demand
There's been lots of talk about 3D printing over the last couple of years. Much of this chatter has been from technology doubters who complain that real applications haven't been happening. At least fast enough for them. Now, McDonalds one of the largest retail businesses in the world, is considering putting a printer in every restaurant so they can print happy meal toys on demand. The technology will allow them to make almost any toy that the customer orders, which means that families will never again be disappointed that their choice is out of stock, or has just been replaced by some other, less desirable toy. The move would certainly put 3D printing into the forefront of people's consciousness's, and help expand the technology to the heartlands of the world.
