World's largest food company says it will create zero waste in Europe by 2020
Nestlé's pledge means that none of its 150 European factories will create any waste that is not reused. That means that there will be no garbage, nothing to go to the landfill and nothing to be incinerated, unless they use it to create energy in the process. What most people don't know is that the company has already met this goal in almost 10 percent of their 468 factories worldwide. Nestle is quickly becoming one of the most environmental and responsible big companies around, buying sustainably-grown coffee, cutting water usage, and more. The fact that big, publically traded companies are being environmental and socially aware shows that these trends are now mature and part of the mainstream. The flow will certainly get even stronger.
