What happens when energy drinks meet eCigarettes?
To anyone looking at consumer culture, the rise of energy drinks and eCigarettes represent two of the biggest trends of the decade. Energy drinks, the older of the two, has already matured into lots of other markets, from energy shots to energy sprays. eCigarettes are far newer, but also potentially much larger as most major tobacco brands have already jumped into the market. Now at least one company is combining these two trends in the form of an eCigarette that dispenses caffeine, rather than nicotine. In short, smokers inhale vapor to obtain a caffeine hit. It's potent too. A single Energy Shisha can last up to 300 puffs, which is the equivalent to about 15 cans of Red Bull. eCigarettes are basically just a new way to deliver drugs into the body, whether that drug is nicotine, caffeine, or something else. As the market matures and people become more used to vaping, we can expect more products like that that administer vapor rather than drink. Will alcohol be next? Actually, vaping alcohol has already been seen in some bars around the United States.
