Roller coasters continue to get gnarlier as 14-loop ride opens in England
When we're asked what the trend on such-and-such is, the answer is usually that it is going to get more so. That's the definition of a trend really -- a perceivable movement in direction of something. And roller coaster culture is no different. This one, called The Smiler, is two minutes and 45 seconds of mind-blowing effects and an adrenaline rush. Located in England, Alton Towers Theme Park’s newest roller coaster cost £18 million ($23 million) and entered the Guinness Book of World Records, beating the 10-loop Colossus in Thorpe Park, England, and the 10 Inversion in Chime Long Paradise Park, China.
