Spacecraft competition is heating up
In the near future there will be may options to fly into space, just as there are many airlines in the sky. And some of these spaceships may look more like airplanes too. That's because new technology is figuring out ways to propel craft to space without being on the top of a giant rocket. One of those companies is Radian Aerospace, a friend of Wikitrends that is just emerging from several years in stealth mode. Radian announced $27.5 million in seed funding to develop the first fully reusable horizontal takeoff and landing space plane. The crafts would be single stage and launch from a rocket-powered sled, which means no pesky boosters and fully reusable. Watch this space.
