Trend Alert: New London beer is both hyper-local and crowd-sourced
London-based Meantime Brewery is one of the most technically advanced brewers around. They are also quite and marketing-savvy and understand that locally-sourced foods are on-trend. Also trending are items that are created by the same people who consume them. Back in March, the brewery planted hops in locations around the city, including the Natural History Museum, Battersea Power Station, Regent's Park and around many pubs. Now, after a long and hot summer, it's harvest time. The hops are being used to brew a truly local beer made from ingredients that have literally grown up in the areas in which they will be consumed. Moreover, the brewery is asking the public to help name the brew, which will be served in pubs throughout London. We love it.
