Label-recognition tech comes to wines bottles
Facial recognition is at the forefront of trends at the moment. It's similar to the apps that recognize songs and apps that recognize products in stores. Now, just as Shazam tells you what you are listening to, a new app for wine labels will let you know what you're drinking. Called Drync, it's kind of like having a sommelier in your pocket. The app uses your phone's camera to scan wine labels, then identifies them using a million-plus bottle database. Undoubtedly, the future is about automatically scanning the world around you and telling you what you are experiencing. When paired with wearable tech, like Google Glass, most everything will be catalogued and explained on command, without even having to lift your phone.
