Natural, organic, local, artisanal trend comes to chewing gum
The trend for foods to be natural, organic, local, hand-made, small batch and the like is pervasive; we are seeing it everywhere, from restaurants that only use produce that was picked the same day to organic vodkas that use sustainably harvested quinoa instead of wheat. Not even chewing gum is immune from this trend. Simply Gum claims to be the world's first completely natural chewing gum, made from just five ingredients, instead of the 80 synthetic ingredients that are sometime hidden in the catch-all term "gum base." This non-GMO chewing gum is made from a base of chicle, the sap of the sapodilla tree, combined with cane juice, sunflower lecithin, cinnamon, vegetable glycerin and rice flour (non-GMO, of course!). Is there a food product that has not yet been touched by the Natural, organic, local, artisanal trend?
