Smartphone attachments getting smarter: iThermometer for cooking
Mobile apps are great. But what amazes us more is hardware that connects with your phone to turn it into a new device entirely. Lately, we've seen a lot of these that work with biofeedback, like headsets that measure your brain waves, or socks that measure the way you step. Now a Kickstarter project is funding for Range a line of cooking thermometers with some cool digital bells and whistles. Aqua Range is designed for candy making, beer brewing, and cheese making. Ember Range is for cooking meat. They plug into the headphone jack of your phone, have temperature alerts, and allow you to save templates for repeatable results. As mobile operating systems evolve, along with the hardware capabilities of phones, expect to see even more innovative hardware an apps coming down the pike.
