Hotel-branded airport lounges are an expanding luxury-travel perk
Luxury hotels are in a constant battle with one another to provide better service and facilities then their competition. But it's hard to push the envelope when standards are as high as they already are. So what's a top class hotel to do? The Four Seasons Lanai in Hawaii is opening a new front in this never-ending battle with the launch of an airport lounge at Honolulu International Airport that's open only to guests who are en-route to the hotel. Meant to offer guests a taste of the hotel's hospitality even before they arrive at the hotel, the lounge offers free snacks and Wi-Fi and is staffed with concierges who are available to assist with check-in, activity and restaurant reservations. The Four Seasons lounge is the latest of a small handful of hotel-branded airport lounges around the world that include the W Resort lounge in Vieques, the La Mamounia lounge in Marrakech, and the Viceroy Hotel lounge in the Maldives.
