Personalized Lipstick Lab lets customers customize their own colors
Bite Beauty has jumped on the personalization trend at their shops in New York City and elsewhere, where they invite customers to make a custom lipstick. The process starts by combining different existing lipstick colors. You can try on mixes of different colors, and layer on more shades to alter the look. The process of making a lipstick takes about seven minutes, and involves melting down the different bullets of lipstick, adding a scent (cherry, violet, peppermint, or superfruit), pouring the mix into lipstick molds and allowing the formula the harden on a cold plate. Marketers know that the key to offering personalized products is to give customers the tools to customize for themselves. Bite is right on trend.
