Soon, most new cars will double as mobile Wi-Fi hotspots
General Motors is partnering with AT&T to offer embedded 4G Internet access in most of the vehicles it sells in the U.S. and Canada starting in 2014. Each car's hotspot will handle up to eight different devices, like cellphones, laptops and other devices. Audi is already offering broadband capabilities in several models, and uses it to merge Google images into its real-time navigation system. BMW is also adding 4G capability, as is Chrysler in vehicles such as the Ram 1500 pickup and SRT Viper sports car.
