Mobile businesses now reporting their locations to potential customers via GPS apps
A while back, at the height of the food truck craze, we wrote about trucks that tweeted their locations every day so that customers could find them. Now a mobile bike shop has taken this concept to the next level, by beaming their location by GPS to anyone with their mobile phone app. The GPS Tune-up Bike initiative was created by the US State of Minnesota as part of a larger campaign to encourage bicycle riding among its residents. The bike shop offered free services to those in need, and roamed the most popular cycling paths in the state. What is interesting to us from a trends perspective, is the GPS app part that seems like it can and will be replicated by other businesses around the world.
