Respoke: Upcycled high-end espadrilles are bang on-trend
Inspired by years of silk scarf collecting, Hermes hound Michael Tonello came up with the idea of repurposing high-end scarf designs into comfortable, handcrafted footwear. Made with upcycled vintage Hermes silk scarves, each pair of these colorful espadrilles is unique. The brand is gaining traction in fancy shops in the USA and elsewhere. Tonello is a creative character who once cornered the market in super-expensive Birkin bags, as detailed in his memoir "Bringing Home the Birkin."
