Wearable computing goes to the head with a heart rate sensor cycling helmet

We are seeing lots of wearable items like bracelets and rings that monitor various bodily processes. Now LifeBEAM is incorporating a microprocessor, an optical physiological sensor, accelerometer, and full wireless communication capabilities into a cycling helmet. This fully-funded Indiegogo project integrates a sensor and algorithms that were originally developed for fighter pilots and astronauts. It is purportedly made for intense activities in extreme environments without the necessity of wearing an ECG chest belt.
